We’re Officially Banking with Lighthouse Credit Union
Friends of Willard Street is excited to share that we’ve officially opened our nonprofit bank account with Lighthouse Credit Union.
Establishing a dedicated bank account is an important step in strengthening our financial transparency and accountability as we continue to grow. It allows us to better manage donations, track program expenses, and ensure that community-supported funds are used clearly and responsibly.
We’re grateful to Lighthouse Credit Union for their support in helping us take this step forward, and we look forward to continuing our work with a strong financial foundation rooted in trust and community care.
We’re Officially a Nonprofit 🎉
I’m really excited to share that Friends of Willard Street is now officially recognized as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.
Getting nonprofit status doesn’t change why we do this work, but it does help strengthen and sustain it. This step allows us to accept tax-deductible donations, apply for grants, and build longer-term partnerships that support our pantry, library, hygiene kits, and community care efforts.
Most importantly, this milestone reflects what has been true from the beginning: this work is rooted in community, trust, and showing up for one another. None of this would exist without the people who donate, volunteer, share resources, or simply believe that everyone deserves dignity and access to basic needs.
Thank you for being part of this. We’re just getting started.

A Small but Important Milestone
We’re grateful to share that Friends of Willard Street has officially received nonprofit certification from the State of New Hampshire.
While largely administrative, this certification is an important step in supporting the work behind the scenes. It allows us to operate with greater clarity, accountability, and structure as we continue serving the community.
Nonprofit status helps us responsibly manage donations, document impact, and meet state requirements that support transparency and good stewardship. These systems matter, even when the work itself remains rooted in people, relationships, and trust.
We’re thankful to everyone who has supported Friends of Willard Street, whether through donations, volunteer time, or simple encouragement. This milestone reflects the collective effort that makes the work possible.
Thank you for being part of it.
